Dear Families,

A new year of music possibilities is approaching, and I hope you had a safe and excellent summer vacation! I have sent this lesson sign-up request email to all the families who studied music with me last year, 2010/11. I would personally like to thank you for supporting my music studio. As we move forward into the new academic year, and your child’s/children’s expanded knowledge of music, it is important to mention some changes that have recently taken place.

  1. I have successfully completed my Honours Bachelor of Music Degree, with Distinction.
  2. I am currently working full-time for Frederick Harris Music Co., Limited (publisher of The Royal Conservatory of Music). Frederick Harris Music has been in publishing for over 100 years and is the world leader/standard for music publishing. Our office has just moved from Mississauga to downtown Toronto, on Bloor Street West, into The Royal Conservatory building beside the Royal Ontario Museum.
  3. Lesson rates have increased due to fuel costs, and wear and tear on my car, and the value of my education.
    • $25 for piano/saxophone/theory/composition per 30 minutes, and
    • $40 for voice per 30 minutes.
  4. Because I will be spending almost 3 hours in transit each day (GO Train and TTC), lesson start times begin at 6:00pm for students in Burlington, and 6:30pm for student in Oakville.
  5. Due to how much I will be working each day, I will not be teaching on Saturday and Wednesday. No lessons on Saturdays and Wednesdays. However, I will be teaching all day on Sunday.
  6. This year, students who fail to complete music assignments regularly, will be dismissed. When a student does not complete their weekly assignment, it robs me of time I could be spending with another student who really wants to learn. I will be issuing report cards to students, so that students may see the fruits of their work. Too many low marks will result in dismissal. I want to be clear, mistakes or imperfections will not affect your lesson mark. I am referring to a student’s attitude, weekly work ethic, and ability to complete assignments. I have been teaching music for almost 10 years and have heard almost every excuse (from all ages, kids to seniors). Please do your weekly assignments, and bring a winning attitude. It is not my intent to be harsh. Music is a privilege, do not waste your opportunities, our time together is very short.
  7. I will be posting notices on the new www.ryanpeplinski.com website. Work requires me to travel from time-to-time. I will do my best to give everyone as much notice as possible. If, I am missing in action and you are unable get a hold of me, please visit the website at your earliest convenience.
  8. If you have not submitted a testimonial, I welcome them.

Last day for lesson sign-up is September 7th

I think that covers everything. If you have any questions or concerns regarding anything above, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or text. Best,
